Pesticide Application

Pesticide Application

Statutory Legislation controls the use of Pesticides within the United Kingdom.  The Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 (amended 1997) requires anyone who uses Pesticides (approved for use in Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry) in the course of business or employment to have received adequate instruction and guidance in the safe and efficient and humane use of such pesticides and to be competent in the duties to be undertaken.  To comply with these guidelines users must have obtained a Certificate of Competence recognised by the Ministers and to this end they have recognised the City & Guilds Land Based Services (NPTC) Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides.

The Award is made up on one compulsory Foundation Unit and then candidates have the option to select the Application Unit they wish to be assessed in.  There is no limit to the number of application units you can hold.
